You know that existing companies in this marketplace are not just sitting around on their current product line. They too will want to be the one to provide the big picture solution and make a fortune. I'm sure that the pace of development is rather brisk and the larger companies are not hurting for R&D monies because they have an existing revenue stream from their existing product line.
Yes, VLDI has been funded for years in the past. I do not know what their current ability is to continue obtaining such funding. Those long term investors are going to want to see a pay off considering the current demand for some white knight to come along and plug the holes in the existing security environment.
