my take on the show (sorry for the delay but i was zonked and too tired to post my notes til now)...
i will keep mine short since you two covered most of how it went...
1- nick- yuck. just awful.
2- jax- good, not great, but compared to the others, good. not sure about that gothic look so many kids are into, but i guess fashion is fashion and she can pull it off for sure.
3- tyanna- as usual, off key and just awful, but love her attitude still. (but its a singing show)
4- joey- (the local girl to my area)- wow! LOVED the changed version and i didnt mind that it was a throw back jazzy vs now days. JR was too hard on her there. she really needs to whiten her teeth though. just sayin', its show biz and you need to be ready for those close ups.
5- quinten- flat and off key but love the look. in this case, i did hear the band overpower him.
6-qaasim- hmmm.... it was OK, but odd and bizarre. not sure what to say. that angry look he makes is kind of freaky.
(i loved the flash backs of a happier, healthier kelly clarkson in her auditions. I remember them like it was yesterday, wow! its hard to watch her struggle to breathe and i know she hates that people get on her about her weight, but she struggled back then soon after idol too. I dont blame her, i love food too. so, its an ongoing struggle for many of (us). :-)
7- clark- you guys raved about it and yes, he was the best and always is, but it was not as magical as i was expecting but WAY better than the others so we are happy to hear good singing.
8- daniel- no wonder it was bad, he had laryngitis but ya, he needed to go and did go. still cute as a button though.
9- rayvon- very good! just needs to get his mouth off of the mike, cause it sounds like he is eating it while trying to sing.
