I just have to disagree with one teeny weeny point you posted. You said Q wasn't available to "many" gays. In truth it wasn't available to most gays. Remember, RCN is not the major carrier in any of its markets. It's largest is Boston, yet even there Comcast has the majority of cable subscribers. In SF RCN has only 3% of cable subscribers, and there is no way for people to get it even if they want to unless they live in a few specific areas, because RCN hasn't expanded it's cable lines since it went into bankruptcy years ago.
But don't worry. This has all been pointed out to her. Like I said, accepting the truth leaves her with nowhere to hide.
