Quite easy to answer.

The die cast machines which made the components for this cell phone were not production ready, there was a high rate of rejects and virtually every component had to be deburred, sandblasted and otherwise finished after the casting to make the item presentable.
In short, inconsistent output and cost prohibitive finishing.

Nonetheless, the point I was trying to make is that Liquidmetal bulk metallic glass has no lasting success story other than the usage in the swatch watches.

Thus, Apple will be sure to use a name of their own choosing for the alloy formulation which they ultimately utilize. They have absolutely no obligation to us the Liquidmetal trade dress.
