I read the post literally.

The thin metal enclosure, for example, could be any metal, which when subjected to machining must be supported during the machining process so that it doesn't warp or bend or otherwise distort during the machining such that the component becomes a reject.

Knowing what I do about liquidmetal, say as an enclosure, it (1) normally doesn't need machining after a cast except for certain threading operations and (2) even if it did, the part even at less than a half a millimeter or less is quite rigid and not subject to the above distortions...at least, according to the samples I have had and played around with.

Yes, this shows that Apple engineers and designers are constantly playing with new concepts and approaches to manufacturing and buying up patents that may later have some significance or consequence.

I now get it, that your highlighting the liquid and solid had no relevance to liquidmetal, I guess.
