The dates line up. JP terminated on ~Oct 28, 2014. On November 20, the PR indicating Des departing BAT on Feb 28 is released.

If Des was chosen to be CEO, that would provide XXII roughly 3 weeks to interview candidates from Oct 28. But, who knows if something was already in the works between BAT and XXII before JP termination.
