Re: Ortiz. I think that is a case of a reporter trying to make the news. I don't think Johnson wants to hit Ortiz because, he is in a slump and he doesn't do well against him historically (.166). Sometimes, that is just the thing to get one out of a slump.
Plus, his teammates wouldn't be thrilled about getting a retaliation plunk from Beckett since he throws 95-96. Though it would probably get him thrown out of the game. Better off waiting until Wakefield is pitching.
Johnson killed the Red Sox last year (5-0). Should be fun. Beckett isn't pitching well though. Might have shoulder issues.
