The Chinese have been bought up German solar companies before bankruptcy. They are using now their distribution channels selling "Germanized" Chinese "products. Same could happen in the United States ... or something like that - but now with more American influence in every respect. Since a decade the Chinese have clustered many dollars ... sure they are "happy to spend them again where they belong to" :-) I believe that no other state in the world has so much economic knowledge as the United States and for sure the decision was made deliberately. Movement is coming back and money will be invested again into the American solar-market ... We'll see about that ...
