This is good play by MYEC (probably coincidence though).
By going after a fellow small company on patent infringement, the chances of winning will be higher than if MYEC sued some big name company. If MYEC wins the case on Zipmark, it gives precendence for the defense of MYEC's patent.
Actually, if you bothered to read what I wrote, I said they would have had no standing in a CA court. I then said if the patent infringement part was dropped in Federal Court, the non-payment would be referred back to state court, which once again, they would have no standing.
