I'm no lawyer, but it appears to me that the law firm sold its debt to a third party and dropped its claim against GT in regard to the BK.

This way, they can continue their business relationship with them with "no hard feelings" attached. It just seems like a case of them being very familiar with the GT IP arena, and would rather keep them as a customer, instead of battling them in court. It did say they have done previous business, and considering the amount of patent applications GT has outstanding, they know they have more work ahead of them.

Maybe they think future income is worth more than the $72K...? Doesn't seem like GT has a problem with it either.

I could be completely off.
