From what we know about the research that EMTNano has done for Lightwave, this is far too little compensation.
As far as I know we're still dependent on grad students to get us to the goal line...
These “grad students” are pushing the edge of quantum physics applications and deserve our respect. They will likely contribute to the basic theory and practice of photonic integration.
From the science perspective, all the pieces are falling into place. LWLG's patented materials are active, stable, fast, reliable, robust and scalable. Many in the industry have come forward with viable PIC designs and the best of these designs are pointing squarely at SOH modulators using EO polymers for data center interconnects.
IMO, we need to be patient. They are obviously at a critical stage of the lab to fab transition and within the "18-24 month window" described by Lou Bintz.
