Good stuff...Thanks!

I made mention of GE in a previous post regarding the medical application. For those interested, research GE PETtrace. I also included a Doc from a medical conference in Helsinki, regarding the Boron Neutron Capture Therapy. GTAT took a pretty big Ad in the brochure.

I didn't really consider the Merlin licensing angle VS product sales. That could be opening up royalties...? Not positive, but was the Chinese company in California Yingli? Was hard to trace that one down.

The growing planes of Sapphire are very interesting. A, C, horizontal...crazy stuff. Don't know if GT has been pursuing different platforms. I know the window aspect is done on the horizontal. This could open up a whole new set of markets.

I agree, medical needs to be licensed out to a team or company that can carry it through trials and market it properly. It is too much of a distraction. FDA approval would be a minimum of five years.

I am responsible for doing exactly the same thing for a robot company, marketing the medical applications for licensing, so I know whereof I speak.

The medical application is way out in my estimation......just getting FDA approval could take a couple of years. There are already similar technologies in clinical trials.....one in a St. Louis, MO cancer research center I believe.

Maybe a big medical electronics firm....GE....would pick it up.
This also might be a licensing play. I would hope that GT would not stray too far from their core competencies after the Apple materials foray.
