Look what the Cubs did to Prior and Wood! Personally, I have had Scherzer on my fantasy teams the past three years and while his extra innings and pitching to 110-120 pitches almost on a per start basis were good for my fantasy numbers, as extra SO's came with that, they have to be wearing on his arm.

While BorASS is claiming there is less wear and tear on his arm than other pitchers on the market, Scherzer has a career average of over 100 pitches/game started and last year averaged a staggering 110 pitches/game started! Keep in mind that this is an average, with several starts going over 120! With the type of velocity and torque he uses, this can only last so long before the arm abruptly looses its steam. Sure would suck to be the team that just guaranteed six years and over $200M to him when that arm does give out!

My guess it was more about weight then pitches thrown. Pitcher can't use his legs properly he in trouble.

I agree compared to others he probably threw more.
There was a time there when he was really something.
