Well, some team will end up getting burned by Scherzer and his agent BorASS! Like Verlander before him in Detroit, Max has thrown too many pitches, many times pitching too deep into games where he was not needed. A pitcher's power arm will only hold up so long when doing this. So now, BorASS is insisting on a huge contract for too many years.
Thing is, some team will blink and grab him, then hold its breath until the arm inevitably and suddenly goes out. Could be as soon as this year or next when all of the sudden Max is maxing out at 5-7 MPH below his career average and is once unhittable stuff is now a feast for hitters.
