If it is proven that there is a SIGNIFICANT short position .. the shorters will require shares to balance their books because this company may go to the graveyard. The shorters will be invited to PAY UP by buying newly authorized shares or assets - phoney or real. That cash will be distributed to all the shareholders except Shorty. That's the way I see it going. But first it must be proven that there IS a large short position. And .. the fax program was needed to pressure the brokers and it was successful .. Cede is dead. And you know that the count is not the only one. If you believe that it is, you are naive.
