#1012 RE: Jared712 #1008

Jared,

From whatsapp wiki:

On November 18, 2014, Open Whisper Systems announced a partnership with WhatsApp to provide end-to-end encryption by incorporating the TextSecure protocol.[40] As of 21 November 2014, only the latest version for Android is alleged to include the encryption, and only for text messaging, excluding group chats, and media.[41] WhatsApp confirmed the partnership to reporters, but there was no announcement or documentation about the encryption feature on the official website, and further requests for comment were declined.[42]

, doesnt look like their ready to roll it out, . One obvious difference is architecture, Validian's app is point to point, whatsapp is client -server ( more expensive to implement ) also validian can encrypt media (video) , the above "textsecure" protocol does not. I do not believe this is a competitor. Their are many security companies in business, but all are using older tech, the call is for a completely new technology, and based on multiple factors,I believe Validian is poised to deliver this. Good luck!
