#8520 RE: run_crusher #8504

Well, I'm by no means a Network specilist, nor am I in the Tv business but I can see some positives here. Please correct me when I'm wrong.

First of all. TV via the internet is no biggie these days. Here in the Netherlands our soccer matches are being broadcast via the web to targeted subscribers. The subscriber just needs a decoder and an internet line of course. (Now I do not know what the avg bandwith in the USA is but with a 10 mb line you have perfect TV viewing, it's all about compression methods I guess.)

Now for Summus.

In their first pr they talked about the ability to remotely manage their sites (tv stations). I can see how the products from Real Digital Media can work for them.

Let's say they make all the programming in their new headquarters in Colorado.

They then can send 1 program to several markets via the Neocast network and edit or add information that's market specific. Let's say a tickerbar with travel-info, weather info etc for the specified market.

The way I see it work technologically is like this: (again, correct me if and when I'm wrong).

Location A: Production facility. Here they make all the programming and make it market specific.

Location B: That's where they send out their programming to their respective stations via the web (Let's call it their Global Broadcast Facility). So this is not to their customers, just to get the programs from Loc. A to their affiliate stations.

Locations C,D,E etc. (Steamboat TV 17, 18, Adondirak etc.) They receive the programs from Loc. B. From here they send it out to their viewers via Satilite or Cable or any other FCC approved means.

I guess this is how it can be implemented.

All imo

Take Care
