Good find! Low-Cost 3-D Solar Cells Undergo Space Testing

?"Three-dimensional solar cells made with very low-cost materials are being tested in the proving grounds of space. These novel photovoltaic devices, developed by the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI), were launched for NASA by SpaceX/Orbital Sciences to the International Space Station (ISS)."

Space X = Elon Musk = Solar City

The better question is should we be excited or concerned? Concerned in that SCTY may very well be developing its own 3d cell for solar panels. I have read that Musk's team has been looking into graphene also, guess time will tell. In any regards, it certainly does show the significance of the 3d cell.

If you click on the link & scroll down to the bottom there is also an article on Georgia Tech's 3d solar cell developed back in 2007.

Wasn't SLTD the first to develop the 3d solar cell?

More research needed but looks like are competition !!

- they claim third party validation (details not yet found)
- raising money for small-scale module production
- located not too far from SUNworks
