Actually SLTD has a patent-pending technology for "their" Solar Cell.

The Georgia Tech Solar Cell was developed in 2007, but they have a different cell than Solar3D.

Another that borrows the technology of optical fibers is a fiber-optic solar cell that Georgia Tech researchers have made by wrapping dye-sensitized solar cells around optical fibers.
