However no one can really complain because we all had plenty of time to buy shares. I already have plenty but I'm gona try and sell some of my blue chips right now to get a few more shares of mcig just to see what happens.

On the day Vitacig starts trading we can load up again.

They highlight2 business days meaning that you must buy prior to this date, or 3 business days prior to record date. With a normal week without a holiday the ex date in this exact example would normally be tomorrow. But because of the holiday the ex date appears to be 3 business days prior.

All I can say is this... Forget everything else that you read and try to understand and just remember the only fact that matters.....you need to buy BEFORE the ex date to receive a dividend. That's really the simplest and easiest way to understand
