Is J&J really in a position to make those demands in this case? They're already facing contempt for threatening DECN's distributors and retailers. I would have to think those type of negotiation tactics would be very dangerous for them to pursue. Especially if they don't get it settled and those tactics came out at trial.

Not sure you have more than one post yet, but do you get the sense J & J is desperate enough at this point to settle for over $100M? It might be different if they were actually buying DECN out, but just settling to get the court issues cleared seems to be a fairly steep price tag given what they've already invested in the legal battle. However, one could look at this and say that is rather cheap for being exposed on anti-trust tactics and any other patent encroachment battles that might be in question.

I'd love to see DECN force them to over $200M, just not sure J & J is truly that vulnerable and motivated to settle.

Nothing at this point would be considered "quick".

I certainly would not be happy with a double from here.

As you've implied Mr. S,the end is in sight. I say,Play the hand out.

With all due respect Mr. S.-this ordeal has been so protracted-NOONE will settle for a mere double from here. Better make it a triple double, on the rocks. We've had a trying year.

I guess it boils down to how much is it worth to J&J to get DECN out of the way?? They tried using the courts to do their dirty work, unfortunately for them, that backfired big time! Now it's about the $$$$$$$$$.

Mr. S, you were right again!! See today's PR...

"If I were DECN I would turn down the mediation but conduct back-door discussions, but only after I put out news that the mediation was rejected as premature."
