an example of finding an area of your personal interest may be something like…. say farming
sensors are being deployed in multiple ways in agriculture and farming
within the fields there may be
moisture sensors
temperature sensors
light sensors
position sensors
nutritional content sensors
that relay their information to the farmer's systems for control and content of irrigation, tied to weather forecasting systems, planting/harvesting/fertilization/rotation planning, and so on.
Sometimes the systems could ultimately be tied to commodity traders on wall street…for real time crop data…sometimes those entities may even pay for the systems to be installed
after harvest you can imagine there are more sensor applications for storage …. and transport logistics
can't forget that some of today's farming equipment also is setup with many sensors… new combines can basically be set to drive themselves with precise positioning capabilities.
so pick an area that has interest to you….and then you can dive into the specific sensor makers…if that's where you want to invest.
