If you read your post, Saleen was sponsoring four different teams during 2006 & 2007.
Each team required two S7-R's plus spare parts support during the racing circuit.
Each S7-R cost Saleen at least $1M to produce and as much as 2x in spare parts.
All the parts are custom made and were ordered COD terms. These sponsorship agreements were not approved by Saleen's BOD's. This issue plus the selling of non-certified Focus and S7's
consumed Saleen's limited Engineering resources and delayed the 2006 model launch's for Mustang, Trucks and Focus. Also the Troy, MI plant was left with no replacement vehicle for the Ford GT because Steve was too busy screwing around at La Mans and in Europe. 250 people were laid off because he did not care enough to submit a proposal for a GT replacement.
