ISO Certification (9001:2008) is not a difficult certification to obtain. It does require quality management oversight, procedures, manuals/document control, training, and continuous improvement objectives, but this is a standard cert that many organizations use. The company also needs to be certified through an accredited consultant. Perry Johnson is the registrar that I am familiar with. With regards to the automotive world, usually tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers are required to obtain a TS cert (TS 16949) not an ISO certification. In my opinion the ISO certification is not a huge deal. Not to say they don't have the cert, but if they did, it would be up on Savi's website. If they went through the work to obtain the certification, you would think they could ad a link/jpeg proving the certification. The only reason to obtain an ISO certification is due to customer requirements. Who is the customer requiring this cert?
