Can the judge hold up judgment until after the damage part of the trial?

Loop the World Series this year was kinda like IDCC's litigation history... 6 blowouts, 3 for each side, and finally a game 7 nail-biter. Is this our game 7 nail-biter? Or is this one of the blowouts... seems to me it is one of the blowouts, still awaiting the game 7 nail-biter?
