#61132 RE: lqmtapple #61130

Are you confusing my post with another? My post was about using the Mesa facility for manufacturing LQMT.

There has been talk in the past about the possibility of LQMT being molded in the Mesa facility. I have questioned this, and after reading the GTAT article I stand by my original call. You will never see LQMT molded parts come out of the Mesa facility.

"Apple is investing the same amount into LQMT as GTAT did if we believe Atakan Peker, (300-500 million)"

BS! Apples and Oranges. Literally. Apple invested half a bill in GTAT to help ramp up their ability to produce Sapphire for Apple. Apple paid 20 mill for the rights to LQMT's portfolio and has maybe(according to AP) invested 100's of millions more in researching and developing amorphous alloy for potential use in Apples own products. Potentially to someday use amorphous alloy parts manufactured by a manufacturer of Apples choosing. And Apple can call the amorphous alloy parts anything they want. Apple doesn't owe anything more to LQMT best of my knowledge. Although the partnership must be beneficial to Apple in some way, since they keep extending it. Or maybe Steipp is just great at begging and Apple agrees to the extensions to get rid of this pesky annoyance.

Was it really a bad idea to partner with the potential Sapphire supplier? Not in my opinion. But, obviously for whatever reason the "gamble" didn't pan out. So......... Now we know. 1/2 billion flip of the coin and poof. Everyone loses. But they gave it a shot and it's sad because of the jobs it would have created in Murica. Maybe next time.

Would Apple extend that kind of gamble of using LQMT to manufacture for them if they decide to someday use BMG? Seriously? Do you really believe this junk could ever be capable of delivering potentially 100's of millions of parts for iProducts per year? Why?

Seriously. Get frikkin real.

Just my opinion and best of luck.
