You know, I don't want to go off on a rant about how unfair a situation may be but things like this are testimony to the notion we are way out of our league when investing our hard earned money in individual stocks. I've been "taken out" by four companies now and have lost 60% of my savings by "corporate manipulations" of similar circumstances.

I suspect that many of we small time, retired "investors" are in an identical situations, chasing the lottery win that will never come.

I guess the message here is that LQMT is not immune to a dramatic fall, and there is no morality when it comes to making profits. It's nice to be on the receiving end when things go well but no fun at all when you lose. "Stockholders" seemingly are the last to win and the first to lose when owning individual stocks.

Sort of like a horse race and the tiresome cliche that never invest (gamble) more than you can lose. I've heard a lot from people who "hit it big" but not much at all from those who "lost a lot" even though I'd bet there must be many more losers than winners.

I bet LQMT's agreement with Apple is just as one sided as GTAT's agreement with Apple. Previous "secret" information is being revealed in the GTAT bankruptcy court proceedings.

When reading through the document you alternate between trying to figure out why GTAT management struck the deal that it did and that Apple is not just a tough negotiator but one that only looks out for its interests. The filing from Daniel Squiller, GTAT’s Chief Operating Officer, is only 22 pages long but it contains a great deal of information about what lead to GTAT’s demise.

In the end there is plenty of blame on both sides. GTAT obviously was willing to agree to anything and Apple was smart enough to take advantage.

No wonder Tom Steipp is so careful when asked about Apple!
