I've narrowed this down to a more simple view.

1.) December 2013 Nugt bottom took 30 days to reverse
2.) We have 1 week left in a 30 day time period
3.) Earnings on miners are due in the next week
4.) Either earnings are inline or not as bad as expected, creating a reversal and historical bottoming pattern repeating 'Dec2013'
5.) Or much worse earnings than already beaten into miner sticks and a bottom is nowhere in sight.

6.) I can no longer use gold as a 'primary' indicator on miner stock trend probabilities.
