Lando: You might be absolutely correct as I've seen judges try to send them home at 5:00 p.m. on Friday and I've seen them ask to stay later to try and finish. I wouldn't expect the jury would have to deliberate over the weekend and the judge would most likely have them resume on Monday. Certainly, they are NOT sequestered.

Oftentimes, you will see the judge start a new case on Monday while the jury deliberates. The lawyers just hand around or on a 30 minute call time to return when verdict is reached. I usually hung around because I didn't want the jury to see me gone and think I didn't care. It's a big psychology game and different lawyers do it differently.

lando1: If testimony is completed Thursday, I hope the jury doesn't hastily skim over ALL of the facts (some of which could demand hours to figure out) and render a decision just to beat the Friday rush hour.
