I have to say the idea that one action - a mistake when young defines a person's character later in life is pretty weak. Who doesn't regret voices when they were young they'd rather other people not know? No one.
putting someones life in danger by holding a gun on them is a little different than say smoking a little pot. Ask the person on the other end of the gun what they think.
