Change the time frame to 253 days for a year (X-axis) or 65 days for one quarter. Take a look at the various year-over-year comparisons by sliding the X bar along the bottom.
I should mention that in February of this year the PowerShares component changed its filtering method from a more fundamental approach to the Dorsey Wright "momentum" based filter. This change is not reflected in the data older than February.

I confess I see confusion in the market seeing that consumer staples supposed to thrive in a different part of the market cycle than cyclicals and industrials. Any thoughts on this?
