I did see Jim Cramer's clip. It is part game, the manipulation that hedge funds do and get away with. It's also another reason why I never freak out on dropping prices. I've never shorted a stock, and don't do options. But, I have profited from the destruction shorts have done to a lot of good company stocks. I can spot stock manipulation in a heart beat, and am very good at getting in near bottoms. The key is due-diligence there too, and buy only shorted stocks with ignored great fundamentals and you will rarely go wrong. Jim said fundamentals don't matter in the short term, and he's right. But a couple of great earning reports, and boom, a good company stock bounces back up. A true stock gem always turns around and rises to the top again. And I believe it will happen here.

I agree with you, you have to careful with who you trust and that's why I follow no one. One could get seriously burned taking stock tip advice on a lot of these boards. I mostly use it to bounce off ideas, in thinking. I believe I'm a good judge of character, and yes, there seems to be a lot of contrasting personalities on this board, but mostly what we read is valid. I do find their are many opinions I respect and very few that I just dismiss. I will admit that when I hear shareholders complaining of falling ticker price and confusing it with true company value, it spells amateur trouble to me. I don't think many will be around to see the pop, as most can't handle the volatility. I don't always have the energy or time to talk people off the ledge, convince them to stay, see what I see. I'm also concerned they'll confuse that with manipulation. From here on out, I'm going to be quiet on that front, let people make their own decisions destructive or not. Overall, the investment pool is made up of a smart group of people. Guess you have to be smart to invest period. :). Good luck to us all.
