Yes, of course. The fraudulent will be with us always. The question is this: What are we going to do about that and at what cost? Depriving people of their liberty is not the best answer. Creating authorities who can be used by the established to beat down the upstarts is not a good answer. The cost is just too high.
The fact that people can set their houses on fire does not justify a government agency to deprive people of fire without that agency's specific, and expensive, permission.
Why not have an FDA that is required to show harm before the can command the withdrawal of a product? No more of this guilty until you spend a $billion to prove you are innocent.
