NG, it seems to me that if there is a delay and shippment cannot happen for an extended period of time, then you feild the incoming calls and remain silent until you can actually ship. then you contact the customer and let them know that the product is on its way and should be there in a week or less. That is when you find out if they want it still or not.

just like the confirmation of the backlog.

I imagine that SEVU has the phone number of all these people, besides their Credit Card number and is going to call them all to see if they still want delivery and to advise that their Card will be debited in that case...

I don't think SEVU would build a 20,000 units run, unless they were pretty much sold in advance... At an average of $300.00 per unit, this would represent about $6 million or 66% of the $9 million backlog...
