#16654 RE: inveterate #16650

Let's make a call to our stock loan dept: # shrs loanable and at what rate! for a reality check

From recollection, two posters cited each that at Schwab and eTrade NWBO is a cash stock, not marginable .without that input of yours which changes somewhat my feeling about Schwab: that they will like all Wall St. Firms make money in as many ways as they can. Those firms that allow NWBO to be marginable collect it two times: interest income on one's loan balance and to refresh one's memory in one of my earlier posts that dept of Bear Stearns was it's most profitable consistenly as they had one of the largest stock loan dept on Wall St while often offering office space to budding hedge funds. Bear Stearns began the falling dominoes with their sub prime funds of Wall St that spread worldwide! Hard to comprehend but I recall someone mentioning that for borrowing NWBO shrs to short, rates would be over 50% (not verified)to indicate the difficulties of that marketplace. Suggest each of us when you get a chance, call up @ Schwab etc to find out how many shrs can I borrow and what's the rate for real time status!

Thanks Inveterate.
