Global Clean Energy Inc.

REW StaffAugust 11, 2014

When Global Clean Energy Inc. (GCE) was formed in 2006, its focus was processing organic waste into synthetic natural gas (syngas). In 2012, after significant capital investment in R&D, the company made the strategic decision to develop waste-to-fuels and waste conversion projects. GCE recognized accelerating waste-to-energy (WTE) growth opportunities in the U.S. and began to secure 20-year feedstock agreements.

GCE plans to build-own-operate (BOO) plants in the plastic and tire WTE field with sites under contract in the Southeast and Midwest U.S. which will process 30 to 60 tons per day of each feedstock. GCE COO Brian Levine provides more details.

Q: What new projects or systems have you been focusing on this year?

A: GCE is focused on the North American markets in implementing commercially proven technologies to convert end-of-life plastic and tires and to recover platinum group metals (PGMs). GCE will develop a plastic and tire pyrolysis site and a PGM plasma arc recovery site in 2014, operational in 2015. GCE only incorporates commercially proven technologies that are presently in operation in Europe and Asia to permit faster growth, mitigate risk and accelerate operations and investments.

Q: What makes you different from your competitors?

A: GCE is positioned as a diverse feedstock integrator. It is contracting with technology providers in Asia and Europe where investment, R&D and advances are leading the world markets. GCE expects an agreement to be in place with a leading Chinese pyrolysis group in Q3 with systems destined for operating sites in North America. GCE plans to build the first dual-line end-of-life plastic and tire pyrolysis operation in the southeast U.S.

Q: Where do you see your company five years from now?

A: GCE focuses on using available and developing technologies to convert waste into commercially viable energy, a process the company refers to as Reforming Environmental Salvage into Clean Usable Energy (R.E.S.C.U.E.).

Toward this end, GCE is a diversified aggregator and system integrator bringing solutions to the plastics, rubber, anaerobic digestion and PGM recovery industries.

In five years GCE will be one of the largest and most diversified feedstock integrators with valuable feedstock under contractual agreements with the world’s Best Available Technologies
