It is not a denial of the science, it is a complete denial and distrust of science, based on fear and ignorance. This affliction is the root cause of many of our national problems.

I'd say the root of conservative ideology is willful ignorance.

It's based upon their predictions have not been correct. They have been saying since the 70's we only have ten years left to do something about it. It's a joke. When Katrina happened that storm was supposed to be the normal because of global warming. It's been over 3000 days since Florida has seen a storm. And storm activity has dropped dramatically. And not one warmer predicted that. Except for me.
