Pipelines usually have closing ratios associated with the different levels of the pipe, including the funnel level. If Solms has a handle on this he should have an indication of the size of the pipeline and people can apply a theoretical close rate. That close rate was 0% for the previous ceo. He doesn't need to give exact numbers, but there are ways of quantifying a healthy pipeline and the various stages.

If he decides to say nothing of substance and "allow the SP to flounder" that is big trouble. Yes, prospects look at the cash-on-hand and other financial metrics. But share price is an indication of the viability of the company to a prospect. Making a decision to buy from an unknown company, with a tiny share price that is falling even more and has a history of financial issues will not happen.

Success breeds success. Failure breeds failure. He needs to show the company can be a success. "Wait and see" doesn't do that.
