Trust

Nobody should know better than you that things shift all the time. I'm not sure where your 60 million comes from. Certainly, in the past, there were expectations of 60 million by April '06.

My reading of reality suggest that about 25 million machines have been sold up to this point with TPM 1.1 in them --- most of them IBM Thinkpads (now Lenovo supported) as well as scatterings of HP and Japanese machines.

Folks actually installing Dell systems with legacy HP and IBMs will eventually either -- replace the older machiens and/or upgrade them to work inside their corporate trusted systems by upgrading them at around $50 a seat. That's the one or two percent of 20-30 million that I think can be put on the table over the next 18 months starting now as Dell helps reporters, businesses, consumers UNDERSTAND what this is all about.

Last week NOBODY needed to know about TPMs if they were writing about laptops or security. This week Wave has been annointed the security company for laptops by Dell. Every techwriter in the country has a flashing red light that says, "What's this all about????" Cheng got is wrong!!! Wanna bet some other writer will be happy to play gotcha with Cheng, now?

Delll buys ink by the barrel and the saying goes "Never pick a fight with somebody who buys ink by the barrel"
