The concern about waterproofing leads me back to the use of liquidmetal as well. I seem to remember something mentioned in one of the patents when bonding sapphire to liquidmetal there was a real advantage in waterproofing compared to conventional glass to metal bonding. Maybe I dreamt it. Thought maybe one of you research junkies out there with fewer then 4 kids under the age of eight might be inclined to check it out. ;0) If the waterproofing mention wasn't related to the sapphire liquidmetal patents maybe it was something with the fuel cell. Again relying on a fairly unreliable memory.

"..respected analyst Ming Chi Kuo of KGI Securities believes Apple..." Thank you so much for sharing this informed observation, rechnerhand. Readers here have come to depend on you for the latest developments regarding progress in the commercial applications of liquidmetal.

Clearly there are still significant issues with fabrication in the use of liquidmetal in an Apple product.

But I think we should bet on the first use being for the iWristThing. It's not a watch, cause Swatch gets to do that. It's an electronic device worn on one's wrist, which like a mobile phone happens to tell you the time of day among many things, assuming it is linked to an iPhone, and uses the right AppleApp.
