Protect and simplify access to your notebook
The Latitude D820 and D620 notebooks and Dell Precision M65 can be configured with the optional UPEK® fingerprint readers that provides a secure and convenient form of user authentication, helping to ensure that only the right people can access the notebook and it's sensitive data.

Log on with the simple swipe of a finger
With the pre-installed Wave Embassy® Trust Suite security software, you can enroll your fingerprint during with the one-time set-up. From then on, all you need to do is swipe your finger to log on to Windows. For added security, you can also use pre-boot authentication to protect the notebook at the power-on level and counter data theft. Trying to remember passwords and resetting passwords are things of the past.

Secure Fingerprint Matching
The UPEK® fingerprint reader helps deliver a higher level of security than passwords by offering the capability to perform fingerprint authentication and template storage within a module in the scanner. This hardware-based security prevents software hackers from influencing match results.

Anti-spoofing
Advanced sensing technology counters spoofing and hacking attempts e.g. using a photocopy of a fingerprint or a fake finger.

Deep and wide sensing technology
248-pixel-wide swipe reader senses both the surface and subsurface of the finger. High quality sensing recognizes authorized users and rejects unauthorized users more reliably.

Add a extra layer of security with Pre Boot Authentication
With the Latitude D820 and D620 pre-boot authentication can be enabled through the pre-installed Wave Embassy® Trust Suite security software . Pre-Boot can be configured to requiring a password, smart card or with the UPEK® fingerprint reader.
