its the same old stance that the GSEs were somehow at fault and put the taxpayer on the hook. first off, the recession was not due to GSEs, the conservatorship came about from external interferences that forced the GSEs to take on risk. secondly, if the taxpayer did not go on the hook, no matter if you believe the recession was all the fault of Washington or not, we would be in a depression.
Its all nonsense and politics that hopefully the courts will either decide on or it will bring so many issues to light that Washington cant afford to let out for fear the public will find out its a legalized form of racketeering and extortion, and many will go down in flames.
