Infra red, night vision, extended line of sight and I'm sure they are applying tech we don't even know about. Not sure if they are using sound location tech but it can be very accurate when they can't see the shooter. Can't figure out how they can use this to detect IED's. The tether has a supply feed to replace lost gas due to bullet holes. This will not last that long after the puncture but will increase duration of use in combat, giving troops time to take out the enemy, then a patch job. Can't imagine a bullet making a hole much greater than the diameter of the bullet in one of those. An RPG would probably take a BIB out whether it detonates or not. Shotguns are useless at 2,00 feet.
