Montanar...Another thing to consider. There were TWO military prototypes. I am assuming that there was the Skydragon and a Rigid type. The Skydragon can be launched, because of it's design, in wind conditions that the rigid ship cannot. I believe, from the pictures, it is also smaller. If so, the Skydragon would offer more versitility for battle field applications, while the rigid ship would be used in areas where wind and weather conditions would better allow its launch. In short, imo, they are two separate applications and designs.

montanar...just curious how you can say for certain that "skydragon aerodynamics and mechanics are a major breakthrough in aviation high altitude airship technology"...

i mean...i sure hope you're right...but how can we say...when nothing has been proven yet...and we certainly have not been kept up to date on the skydragon's progress...

montanar,S2 is rigid, composite internal structure with gas cells, does not use ballonets.
