There probably is a high short interest. But I'd be surprised if it was that high.
Most of those sites that report daily short interest are wrong - because they can't account for how a lot of the trades are made.
A lot of the time normal buys and sells are recorded as shorts on those sites because market makers will routinely sell shares a split second before they acquire them making it show up as a short but in reality it's just regular old selling/buying action. IMO the thing to watch out for is significant failures to deliver.
