john galt,
DO you

really believe this statement of yours? "The way I see it, his accuracy entitles him to rub our noses in our company's performance in a way that makes his current delivery look like a tea party, BUT he hasn't done that."

This is a DD board about Wave Systems, not a board about performance of stock price. I suggest a brokerage house or someplace like that if you want to do nothing but track performance levels of company stock prices.

This particular company, Wave Systems, is not even out of the blocks yet so far as having a market to move their products.
They are close to having one, just barely beginning, but up to now, that market has not existed. Therefore, how can you possibly be a price follower and examiner when the market for the product of a developmental stage company does not yet even exist?
And He or anyone else is "entitled" to rub the DD'ers here noses in stock prices when they are low?

Are you serious?

Sheeeeshhhhhhhh

John,

I did not attack CPA. In fact I pointed out that his training is what led him to his conclusions, but there is another side than just financials.

Development companies are usually small and short of funds. They have to struggle to stay afloat so they can be successful at the end. Edison invented more items than anyone else in history, but he was always strapped for money. He had to adopt a policy of "If I can't immediately sell it, then I can't develop it". He had to stop on several things which later came to being.

CPA is valuing Wave as an "instant gratification" investment. Most of us longs know it will be a while longer and we tend to understand. So we don't need to be reminded and told that the financials stink. We just want to know that the doors are open and product is starting to move.

Small private development companies seem to have an easier time raising capital. If Wave were private, I would expect the suitors would be lined up at the door to trying to buy them.

My only complaint about CPA is he is only seeing half of the picture. Gratification is why you invest, it doesn't have to be instant.

Just my comments.

john galt: What do you mean by "the unusual nature of yesterday's SEC filing"?

(By the way, I don't see what's "straightforward" about his shiftiness with respect to the term sheet with the lock-in language.)
