Mechanistically it seems to me that any of the RRMS drugs that work well (Tysabri is best) have a chance of delaying the onset of SPMS as they reduce the assault on the myelin and neurons. The reduction in the damage gives the body a chance for repair of the myelin. Tysabri has the best chance of delaying or reducing SPMS. (Of course, I don't have a science or medical background and guess a lot.)
