Get past it. More and more companies have 1099 income and independent contractors and folks on all kinds of plans other than W-2 income. I ran a company with thirty six 1099 independent contractors, a few part timers and I was the only full time person. Company can save a ton on costs that way. And depending on the nature and location, full time employees may not be necessary. Does not mean other folks are not working,
