SOROS. I'll echo ONEBGG's comment on your Muslims post. Obama has made many Muslim ass kissing remarks based on nothing. You would think that with his Muslim background Obama would know that many Muslims use just their empty left hand to wipe those asses. Unclean come to mind.

About the left hand in the Muslim World.

When I lived in Abu Dhabi I had a good friend that was the procurement manager for Amerada Hess. There was a Sheik that had the concession to import oil tools & equipment.

The Sheik invited Steve to a Tribal Majlis and Steve invited me. A Majlis is a ceremony where men from the tribe can meet with the Sheik.

he Majlis was in a huge room about the size of a basketball court. There were chairs along the walls of the room. As the man next to the Sheik finished his appeal he would get up and move to the Sheik's other side. It was like a one chair at a time slow motion musical chairs, without the music.

The men moved clockwise until all had their several seconds with the Sheik.

Near the conclusion of the Majlis servant men started laying 20' x 20' Persian carpets in the open part of the room. They then brought in monster trays of steaming rice with a roasted whole sheep on top of each heap of rice. The trays were about 5'x 3 '.

When the food was in place, the Sheik stood up and clapped his hands. It was the signal to chow down. Steve and I were the only non Muslims in the room. We followed the Muslim's lead and sat cross legged on the carpets and dug in.

The men were reaching into he rice and pulling chucks of roasted mutton off he carcasses. So far so good-- I'm left handed. I dug my left hand into the rice-- and a hush fell over my carpet! Muslims never, never , never use their left hand when eating.

After a few minutes, with a noticeable lack of appetite, my Arab carpet mates started eating again. I had about a 2'diameter of the rice to my self. Luckily I hadn't touched the mutton.

I wasn't ignorant of the left hand taboo, it's just that instinct tool hold. I clumsily continued eating with my right hand , carefully avoid in the tainted portion.

This may be an old wives tale but I've been told that ancient Europeans shook hands with their left hands because it was closer to the heart. When Muslim influence spread from their occupation of Southern Europe, shaking hands with the right hand became the norm.

Oh Hell. I've rambled on this long. In Roman and Grecian times oaths were sworn by men placing their hand over their testicles. not their hearts. Hence the word testify.
