Would be nice if Demarco released them either right before the vote or on his last day of office.

Thank you once again.
This is the most compelling argument yet. I have sent it to 6 separate media sites. Please everyone send it to your congress people and any media sites that would understand it.
Thanks

.”23 In pursuing their mandate to protect the third party taxpayers, the government is neglecting its duties to the shareholders – something that under traditional corporate law runs counter to a conservator’s role.

get past the roll count, and we can see the law

Obit...You asked me what crime the banks and Federal Reserve commited to be tried in a court of law. Looks like you know a lot of the answers. I might add conspiracy to de-fraud, steal and murders, bribery & assassinations might want to be included.

Well written.

There is more to add. The sinister games played by the tag team of the federal government has been horrible.

It would make for an excellent soap opera. But they have been masterful at orchestrating the charade.

Its all been a farce.

In the end... it was Fannie and Freddie that saved the US tax payer... not the way its misunderstood. So sad.

Gvt is totally lawless today. That's why I still think there's a significant chance that fnm will indeed be dissolved and shareholders indeed screwed. I'm long but i'm positioned according to the worries i'm expressing here. I'm replying to everyone here, not necessarily Obit personally, so don't feel obliged to reply to me Obit. Use your posts carefully bc they are golden!

Yes we have laws and courts but re-read that excellent article if you missed the GM story or the 3rd amendment in 2012. In case it's not clear, our gvt has become completely unhinged from its most basic legal foundations. Our most basic protections going back to the very reasons for the Founders' revolution are now gone once again. The GM thing flew in the face of literally hundreds of yrs of investment laws and practices. And 2008 was just gvt cronies making it up as they went along with no regard for the law. Sadly, I could easily see the story of FNMA just joining those other horrendous violations of the law that somehow seem to still "stick" many years later. GM, etc. Heck the EPA was just found to have very recently (during this admin) done involuntary, secret testing of cancer causing stuff on humans who were told (lied to) they were being exposed to something totally safe and harmless!!

This is all in the here and now, not in some Orwell book. It's real. It's happening. Gvt is completely unhinged and FNMA is in its sights. There are no politicians championing it, and they'd be in the minority even if they publicly backed shareholders. And supreme ct judges can be bought just like any judges (see John Roberts's ruling on the health care law that forces someone to buy something just bc they are alive). Then see all the exemptions the administration is dishing out to cronies. See all the changes in the law the admin is making even though constitutionally, the executive branch CAN'T just change anything it wants about a law at any time without congress voting on it. Totally unhinged from the law is our gvt. A complete taking of the GSEs would fit right in with those other examples of recent and severely illegal gvt behavior. Notice it's been the last 2 admins. I'm not just bashing the current lawless one. Courts are our only hope, but please don't put your entire life's savings into this ticker bc the gvt cares not one whip about you. It'll wipe out FNMA if it wants to, if it pleases their donors enough to do so.

I sold all my Fannie shares in the 5's ,, made great bank but don't think I will be getting back in,, knowing the theft that took place with wamu, If the powers that be want to steal the cash and assets THEY WILL no matter what the law is or what the law says and being a nation of neutered sheep we will just go along with it without much being said or done about it....imo

Why doesn't Tim Mayopoulis just stop paying the profit sweep. It doesn't appear to be legal. If govt wants it to continue, let them bring the lawsuit.

Can you speculate as to why Cooper is calling on the declaration of Joseph A. Orlando? He worked at Leucadia - perhaps they had an offer for a GSE bailout loan?

"Stealing Attempts by Big Banks of Freddie and Fannie" may be a better headline. i have said this here many times, the only reason i am in this is due to govt: for the people, by the people. it was the big banks who brought them down and still trying. just because handful of people are not ethical doesn't mean everyone is. do you see how the unemploymnet rate is lowest ever? housing has come up all over again? the credit goes to admin and not to big banks. big banks are still trying to topple the dodd frank. so let's be careful in defining who the real culprits are and sleep well, it will take time but right thing will happen, bet on it, one example yesterday was what maxine waters said. can't wait to see the royal bank of scotalnd shells out 13 billlion royaly as they screwed us royaly.
